Your New Year resolution shouldn’t have these 4 things

It’s that time of the year when we start making New Year resolutions, some are realistic and some unrealistic, and we equally take pride in breaking these resolutions. I am no exceptions to these but lately I have been trying to think what these resolutions should be, how can it really make a difference in my life. In order to select the right resolution, I first choose to reject few resolutions. Here is my list of rejections;

I will lose weight and become physically fit

It’s not an oxymoron, just a simple fact; I can’t stay with this resolution. Have started to strongly believe, the change must be done starting today and that too on top priority. Losing weight can’t be derailed because you need to make a New Year resolution. Healthy body has direct relation with healthy mind.

I will listen more, speak less

Not that I won’t speak but it will have a perfect balance. In today’s world, it’s perceived, if you speak a lot with confidence you will be effective, in reality it’s not. If you listen a lot with excitement and confidence, everything else will supersede. Listening must start right now; I might be missing some important voices and this cant wait for New Year resolution to happen.

I will learn more

This is just my or your trap, we should never have a resolution to learn more, if its then you have already missed the bus. Learning is continuous journey, it must start today or it will never start.

I will give back to society

Giving back it back to society is a strong leadership trait; you become more human and compassionate. Across the world millions of kids face issues with lack of education and it’s our responsibility to give it back to these kids. Lets pledge it to make it a cyclic event, you learn and you give back to society, you learn more, you give more to society. This certainly can’t be a New Year resolution, I will start giving today.
